Base Plate Assembly
Flight Hardware | Flight Qualified | Space Proven
The Base Plate Assembly forms one end of a CubeSat Kitâ„¢ structure -- typically, the end with the Motherboard Module (MBM) C&DH subsystem. Precision constructed from Al 5052-H32 and plated according to the CubeSat Design Specification (CDS), each Large-Aperture Base Plate Assembly is secured to the Chassis Walls via six M3 flathead stainless-steel screws.
Solid-wall and skeletonized versions are available from stock. Users can choose base plates with a single separation switch (deprecated), or with dual, independent separation switches. Each separation switch has C, NC and NO solder terminals. The second separation switch is located on a corner diagonally opposite from the first.
N.B. The single-switch versions are being deprecated, as Pumpkin switched to a dual-switch architecture in 2012 with the advent of the Motherboard Module (MBM) Rev E.
