A new model joins the 6U SUPERNOVA lineup

Pumpkin's SUPERNOVA line of nanosat buses now has a new member -- the 6U SUPERNOVA-SP. This family member incorporates the usual SUPERNOVA features like the high-power EPSM1, the intelligent BM2, a deployable solar array and a CMG-based ADCS. But perhaps its most interesting feature is its ~4U payload bay. The payload interface includes power, communications (including multiple Ethernet ports), timing and other signals. A 4U payload module can be swapped in or out in under 1 minute, and Pumpkin's GUTS FSW will auto-enumerate devices in the payload. This flexibility means that 6U SUPERNOVA-SPs can be deployed in forward positions, and 4U payloads can be inserted just prior to integration and launch.

The first 6U SUPERNOVA-SP is being delivered to a customer this week.
